Inv. #23805
Burch Swiss Modern Diamond-set Brooch
SOLD
Circa 1960s, 18k, by Burch, design attributed to Kurt Aepli, Zurich, Switzerland.   This exquisite brooch demonstrates Kurt Aepli's ability to pair down lines, shapes, and forms revealing their essence. The swirling tracks of stars draw our attention to the cosmos. The result is a spectacular sculpture-to-go.  Excellent condition.
Remarks from Lawrence Jeffrey: "I was struck by a description of Aepli's work in an article… his style might be best described as the evolution of Modernism, the Bauhaus, and Art Deco… this dynamic was maximized by the inclusive application of high value materials."

Stones: .62 carats total weight of G color, VS clarity diamonds
Hallmarks: BURCH and 750 for 18k
