Ed Wiener 40 Carat Citrine Ring 18k c1980s
SOLD
Circa 1980s, 18k, by Ed Wiener, New York City. This massive 18k gold ring is a fabulous one-of-a-kind example of Ed Wiener's later work. The 40.0-carat golden citrine is set in a trippy organo-chic landscape. The organic movement in decorative arts heavily influenced goldsmiths in New York, Paris, and Brazil. The look is unique and the handmade construction superb. Excellent condition.
Remarks from Lawrence Jeffrey: "From his gallery on 5th Avenue during the eighties, Ed Wiener did the unexpected, designing in a whole new aesthetic and in the process creating, in my opinion, his greatest body of work. There is a wonderful synergy to these pieces where cubism, informed by architectural motifs, is rendered human by an organic earthiness."
